Applying Cling Designs
Remove clings from package and peel from clear plastic backing. Place flat side lightly on the INSIDE of a clean dry window. Reposition as needed, be sure not to let cling fold over and stick to itself. Once in the right position, PRESS FIRMLY from the inside out. In cold weather be sure clings are warm and flexible, a FEW seconds with a blow dryer works well. If desired they can be trimmed with scissors to change the shape or divide into pieces. SWEATY OR FROSTY windows will force clings to come off in winter, temperatures in excess of 120 will cause clings to get too soft. clings will adhere to Plexiglas or window tinting film, so be sure you want it there for a while. |

Applying Leading Strips
Peel leading from clear plastic backing. Trim any undesired sections from the ends, (these are handmade, folks). Place one end of the leading 1/8" underneath the edge of the cling to anchor it. press firmly onto clean, dry glass, avoid excessive handling and stretching. Trim to desired length with razor or scissors and place under edge of adjoining cling or up against the edge of the window frame. In cold weather be sure leading is warm and flexible before applying. To reapply, clean first.

Background Texture
Once the clings and leading are in place AND you have checked them from inside and outside to be sure they look the way you want them, you are ready. Try using different textures (below) on different parts of the background. You can also do more than one layer of paint for a more opaque look, or COMBINE two textures together to create a new texture. You can also change the textural look of sections of the cling designs for a different look (will not damage cling, these materials are compatible with the clings.) Dries clear in 15 minutes.

Applying the Background Texture
SPONGING-Pounce repeatedly, dabbing all over the desired area, covering completely with even layer. Wipe excess off areas you painted by mistake while still wet. SCRIBBLED- With the tip of the tube, start scribbling in circular motions, can make large ,small, or varied motion, repeat when dry with another layer if desired. CRUMPLING- Pounce with a crumpled piece of plastic or saran wrap, cover desired area. PAINTBRUSH- Dab repeatedly to cover surface, 1" long strokes. COMBINE two textures if you want.

Cleaning Clings
Dust as needed. Use a cloth to clean over and around clings with a little water or Windex. Do not soak in water.

Removing Clings
Lift edge with fingernail, carefully working off from all sides. Avoid stretching of folding. A spritz of water or Windex can be used to renew the flexibility to old clings that feel stiff. Humid days will make the clings more flexible also. On hot days, move clings when its cooler. In cold weather clings become stiff from the cold window, and need to be warmed a few seconds with a blow dryer to assure flexibility before removing.

Storing Cling Designs
To store seasonal designs, remove from window and place in a PLASTIC bag, (the ones we provide are especially heavy). Leave space between each cling, at no time should they be stacked on top of each other as they may stick together. Store bags flat in a relatively cool, dry place, the attic is most likely too hot in summer.. When reapplying next time clings can be refreshed if necessary by cleaning oils from the hands off both sides with Windex, be sure to warm to room temperature as well.

Traditional Design Application
When you are putting up the traditional and geometric designs, you will most likely be centering the larger ones. Measure the center of each edge of the window, you can mark the glass with a crayon to guide you in putting the pieces up, it is also helpful to measure when lining up the leading on these types of designs.

Eliminating Air Bubbles
Press clings firmly from center out to eliminate air. Sometimes after you apply them it takes a while for the sun to cause air to evaporate out from behind clings. Small bubbles that stay can be popped out with a needle and pressed down. For a professional look or for applying very large clings you can paint on a layer of clear background paint to the back of the cling and then press it to the window, pressing the air from the center out. Work quickly before paint dries, wipe or scrape excess paint off window, unless you are going to do a textured paint background anyway, then you can paint the rest of the background over it.

Removing Background Texture Watch Video
Textured background can be removed by scraping off with razor. It will peel or flake off fairly easily. Trim away from clings to reuse clings.
